چکیده
Abstract Late socialist countries are transforming faster than ever. Across China, Laos and Vietnam, where market economies coexist with political rhetoric the Communist party state’s rule, sweeping processes of change open up new vistas imaginaries future alongside uncertainty anxiety. These three very few living examples that combine capitalist economics state politics. Consequently, societal transformations in these contexts subject to pressures agendas not found elsewhere, yet they no less global forces elsewhere. As all maintain substantial rural populations, because those areas themselves places change, how people across changing undertake making is a timely significant question. The contributions issue address this question by engaging lived experiences government Laos, China showing politics development which desire hope entangled contradictions struggles late socialism.
